These cookies are soft and not too sweet. They taste like cake. Of course, they're simple to make with everyday baking supplies!

INGREDIENTS

– 2 & 3/4 cups (330g) all-purpose flour – 2 teaspoons baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened – 1 & 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar – 1 large egg – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – 1/2 cup (118ml) buttermilk

Warm the oven up to 350°F. Put parchment paper or silicone liners on baking sheets to line them.

Step 1

INSTRUCTIONS

The flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt should all be mixed together with a whisk. Put away.

Step 2

Lower the mixer speed. Three portions of flour and two portions of buttermilk are added. Just combine. Dough will be thick and sticky.

Step 3

Place 2-tablespoon portions of dough on prepared pans, leaving 3 inches between cookies.

Step 4

Bake one pan at a time for 15–18 minutes until edges are browned and centers are set.

Step 5

Cookies cool on pans on wire racks for 10 minutes. After that, remove the cookies from the pans and place them directly on a wire rack so that they can dry completely.
