TO MAKE COOKIE BARS:Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 9"x13" pan. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Beat butter and sugar until frothy using a medium-speed electric mixer. After adding each egg, stir well. Mix in vanilla.

Lower mixer speed. Add flour mixture slowly, mixing just until incorporated. Spread batter in pan. Pan batter will be thin.

Bake 20–25 minutes until sides are browned and a pick inserted into the center comes out clean. Pan-cool on a wire rack.
Step 4
FOR FROSTING:
Beat sugar and butter with a medium-speed electric mixer until blended. Mix 3 tablespoons cream and peppermint extract.
Step 5
Keep beating, adding cream slowly, until the frosting reaches the right consistency. Apply icing to cooled bars. Add sprinkles or crushed candy canes.
