The outside of Dorie's Chocolate Chip Cookies is crunchy, the inside is soft, and they are SO full of chocolate!
INGREDIENTS
– 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
– 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
– 2/3 cup (167g) firmly packed light brown sugar
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– 2 large egg
– 12 ounces (340g) bittersweet chocolate, roughly chopped (or 2 cups chocolate chips or chunks)
– 1 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F. Cover baking sheets with parchment or silicone. Mix flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
Step 1
INSTRUCTIONS
Blend butter, sugar, and brown sugar using a medium-speed electric mixer. Mix in vanilla. After adding each egg, stir well.
Step 2
Lower mixer speed. Add flour mixture slowly, mixing just until incorporated. Mix in chocolate and almonds.
Step 3
I use a #50 scoop to drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough into prepared pans, leaving 2 inches between cookies.
Step 4
Bake one pan at a time for 10-12 minutes until edges are brown and interiors are golden. (If they're little soft in the middle, fine.)
Step 5
Cool the cookies on the pan on a wire rack for 1–2 minutes. Then carefully transfer them to a wire rack to cool with a spatula.
