These Maple Pecan Cookies taste great thanks to the maple syrup and maple-glazed pecans.

– 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour – 1 teaspoon baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened – 3/4 cup (150g) firmly packed light brown sugar – 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar – 2 large egg – 1 tablespoon maple syrup – 1 cup roughly chopped glazed pecans, plus more halves for topping*

Mix flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 1

Beat butter, brown sugar, and sugar on medium speed with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. After adding each egg, stir well. Stir in maple syrup.

Step 2

Reduce mixer speed. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until incorporated or a few flour streaks remain. Stir in chopped pecans.

Step 3

Cover and chill the dough for 15 minutes until it's cool and manageable. Heat oven to 350°F. Cover baking sheets with parchment or silicone.

Step 4

Drop dough by 2-tablespoon portions (#30 scoop) onto prepared pans, leaving 2 inches between cookies.

Step 5

Press a pecan half into the top of each cookie, gently flattening it. Bake cookies for 16-18 minutes each pan until golden brown.

Step 6

Cool cookies on a wire rack for 5 minutes when on the pan. Remove the cookies from the pan to cool on a wire rack.
