A short list of items is all you need to make Danish Butter Cookies!
INGREDIENTS
– 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened– 1 cup (110g) confectioners' sugar, sifted– 1 large egg– 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract– 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour– about 2 tablespoons granulated sugar or sanding sugar
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets with silicone or parchment.
Step 1
INSTRUCTIONS
Beat butter and confectioners' sugar until frothy using a medium-speed electric mixer. Stir in egg and vanilla.
Step 2
Lower mixer speed. Add flour slowly and mix until incorporated. Put the dough in a big star-tip pastry bag. Pipe 2-inch rings of dough. Cookie spacing should be 2 inches.
Step 3
Dust cookies with granulated or sanding sugar. Refrigerate cookie pans for 15 minutes.
Step 4
One pan at a time, bake 14–18 minutes until sides are slightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on a wire rack on the pan. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to finish cooling.
