These chocolate chip cookies are great because they are chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside.
INGREDIENTS
– 2 & 1/4 cups (270g) all-purpose flour– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda– 1/2 teaspoon salt– 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled*– 1 cup (200g) firmly packed light brown sugar– 1/3 cup (67g) granulated sugar– 1 large egg– 1 egg yolk– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract– 2 cups (340g) semisweet chocolate chips (or chocolate chunks or chopped chocolate)
Mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. Beat butter, brown sugar, and sugar with a medium-speed electric mixer until mixed. Stir in eggs and vanilla.

Lower mixer speed. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until incorporated or a few flour streaks remain. Mix in chocolate chips.
Step 2
Cover and chill dough overnight or for 2 hours. Heat the oven to 350°F. Cover baking sheets with parchment or silicone.
Step 3
Scoop 2-tablespoon amounts of dough** onto prepared pans, leaving 2 inches between cookies. Roll each dough ball after scooping for less craggy cookies.
Step 4
Bake each pan 12–15 minutes until golden brown. Do not overbake. Cookies cool on pans on wire racks for 5 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to finish cooling.
