Prepare to bake the most delicious chocolate crinkle cookies! These classic cookies have a rich, chocolatey flavor and a crinkled appearance that will draw attention.
INGREDIENTS
– 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour– 2 teaspoons baking powder– 1 teaspoon salt– 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar + about 1/4 cup (50g) for rolling the cookies– 1/2 cup (118ml) vegetable or canola oil– 1 cup (85g) unsweetened cocoa powder– 4 large eggs– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract– 1 cup (110g) confectioners’ sugar
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Mix sugar, oil, and cocoa powder in a separate bowl with a medium-speed electric mixer.

Mix in the eggs one at a time, then the vanilla. Add flour to cocoa mixture and mix until moistened. Thicker, stickier dough.

Cover and refrigerate dough for 4 hours or overnight. Heat the oven to 350°F. Cover baking sheets with parchment or silicone.

The remaining 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and confectioners' sugar should be in shallow bowls.

Roll tablespoons of dough into balls. First lightly coat each ball in granulated sugar, then heavily in confectioners' sugar. Put dough balls on prepared pans, leaving 2 inches between them.

Bake each pan for 12–14 minutes until the centers are almost set. Refrigerate dough between batches. Softer cookies require a shorter baking time. Bake longer for crisper cookies.
Step 6
Cool cookies on pans on wire racks for 5 minutes. Move the cookies from the pans to a wire rack to finish cooling.
